The author of “The Treasures of the Talmud” has been for years engaged in the study of the very vast collection of commentaries, notes, reflections, and traditions known as the Talmud – that strange, mysterious, mighty book, of which so many know the name, so few the contents. This volume will give the general reader some knowledge respecting the vast work. I cannot help feeling surprised that in the present age, when commentaries on the Holy Scriptures are so sought after, that more attention has not been given , in the case of the Old Testament books, to this most ancient and venerated work.
